Morobe Mining Joint Ventures (MMJV) is a 50-50 joint venture between Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited of South Africa and Newcrest Mining Limited of Australia . MMJV was formally established for the purpose of exploring, developing and operating mines in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The MMJV covers all current and future mining, project and exploration activities by the two parent companies in the Morobe Province, PNG, including the Hidden Valley Gold mine and significant resource discovery at Wafi/Golpu.

Watut locals geared up for cocoa production


Morobe Mining's Community Agreement Superintendent, Jack Karali, presenting the tools to cocoa farmer and Ward 26 Councillor Apollo Eliah and witnessed by Morobe Mining staff and the community.


The last of the cocoa tools for four Babuaf villages along the Lower Watut Region were distributed in February this year by Morobe Mining's Primary Industry officers.

Elementary teachers graduate with library skills


Elementary teachers and officers from Huon-Gulf District, Morobe Mining Joint Ventures and Rural Volunteer Library Services pose for a group photo after the closing ceremony.


Twenty eight elementary teachers recently graduated from a three-day Elementary Teacher Training on phonics, reading and library skills at the Babuaf Elementary School in Kapunung Village, Morobe Province.
